CITY OF ANNAPOLIS 2013 CITIZEN SURVEY REPORT
What have we learned?
Read about how our fellow Annapolis residents feel about our City. Go to the City of Annapolis' website, www.annapolis.gov, click on "City of Annapolis 2013 Citizen Survey Report", and then click on "Final City of Annapolis 2013 Citizen Survey Report".
Specifically, pages 55-56 outline the demographics--the cross-section--the very wide range of people who participated in the Survey. In other words, a randomly but carefully selected and very representative sampling of residents participated in the Survey. The subject matter is very comprehensive in scope, assessing a broad array of City services and interactions, and measuring attitudes and perceptions that impact the experience residents have living in Annapolis.
For example, at least 75% (or more) of our residents offer ratings of "excellent" or "good" for Annapolis as a place to live, for their neighborhood as a place to live, and for the overall quality of life in Annapolis.
So, in this land of pleasant living...
~~ Why do we like living in Annapolis?
~~ How do we rate our 29 City services? What's important to us?
~~ What are the "characteristics" of our City?
~~ What are the challenges of our City?
~~ How is our City government performing?
~~ What types of activities do we engage in and like?
~~ How do our City employees perform their jobs?
~~ Is our City friendly?
~~ Is our City prepared for an emergency?
~~ Do we live in a safe City?
~~ Is our City responsive to our needs and wants?
~~ How do we see our City Dock and our Downtown area?
~~ Who are the people who answered our Survey?
~~ What are we willing to pay for in our City that we love?
As we continue to dialogue, discuss, deliberate, and debate during this budget time (or at any time), let us reflect upon our Citizen Survey Report and the answers that our neighbors have provided to us. Query: Can we use this Survey as a guide toward making our final decisions? I believe that it is a great start!
